How do I register?

Accepted Answer

Open the race page, choose your distance, fill in your details and pay online. As soon as the payment is confirmed we email you your registration with a signed QR code — that QR is your entry, and it is also waiting for you in your account under My races. The whole thing takes a couple of minutes, and there is nothing to collect or print beforehand.

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. You can register with nothing more than an email address, and everything you need arrives in your inbox. An account is free and worth having, though: it keeps your registrations, your QR codes, your receipts and your full results history in one place. If you create one later with the same email address you registered with, the races you already ran with that email address are attached to it automatically.

Which payment methods can I use?

Bancontact, Visa and Mastercard. Payment is handled by our payment provider, so your card details never reach us, and you are charged once — at the moment you register.

Can I register someone else, or a group?

Accepted Answer

You can register someone else, and it is a common thing to do for a partner or a child. Register them as a guest and fill in their name, date of birth and email address: the registration belongs to the runner whose details are on the form, not to the person paying. One thing to watch — if you are signed in to your own account, the registration is created in your name, so sign out first when you are entering somebody else. There is no group basket yet: each registration covers one runner on one distance, so a team of six goes through the form six times. Give everyone the same team name and the results will bring them back together.

When do registrations close?

The organiser sets the closing date for their own race and it is shown on the race page. A distance also closes the moment it is full, whatever the date says. When that happens the distance is marked sold out, and the only way in is the resale platform, where runners who can no longer take part pass their place on.

Question 6

Is the price I see the final price?

Accepted Answer

Yes. What you see on the race page is what leaves your account: no booking fee, no service charge, no administration fee appearing at the last step. Our €2 per registration comes out of the price the organiser sets, never on top of it. The only things that change the total are your own choices — an optional shirt or extra, or a discount code.

Where is my QR code?

Accepted Answer

In two places, and both stay available. It is in the confirmation email we send the moment your payment goes through, and it is in your account under My races, where you can open or download it again as often as you like. The QR is cryptographically signed, which means the race staff can verify it is genuine, and it cannot be forged or copied into a second valid entry.

I lost my confirmation email — how do I get my QR back?

If you have an account, sign in and go to My races: your QR is there, ready to download again. If you registered as a guest, create an account with the same email address you used and confirm it — your past registrations attach themselves to it automatically, QR included. And if the email address itself is the problem, a typo or an old address you no longer read, contact us and we will fix it for you.

Can I add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

Accepted Answer

Yes, where the race supports it. On your confirmation page you will find Add to Apple Wallet and Save to Google Wallet buttons, which drop the QR straight into your phone's wallet next to your boarding passes. If you do not see those buttons, nothing is lost: show the QR from the email or from your account instead. It is the same code and it is scanned in exactly the same way.

Can I change my details, team name or textile size?

Yes, yourself and free of charge. From My races you can update your contact and emergency details, change your team name, and swap your shirt for another size — no email to support, no fee, no waiting on anybody. Three deadlines apply, and they exist for practical rather than administrative reasons: sizes close on the day the organiser sends the order to the printer, the team name closes when registrations close, because that is when start lists and team scoring are built, and everything else closes on race day.

Can I switch to another distance?

You can change distance within the same race whenever the new distance costs the same as, or more than, what you paid. Pick it from My races and pay the difference online — and if the price is identical, there is nothing to pay. Your registration moves with you: same registration, same QR, nothing cancelled and re-created. Switching to a cheaper distance is not possible, because it would mean paying money back (which is complicated), and changing to a different race is not possible either. A change needs room left on the distance you are moving to, and that distance's age limits still apply. This is also deliberate against speculation: no refund on the way down, and a seller always gives up 20% on a resale, so buying up race entries to resell them is a losing trade by design. We think that is only fair — a place in a race is not an investment.

Can I get a refund?

That is the organiser's decision, not ours. They set the terms of their own race, and we hold the money until it is paid out to them, so a refund starts with them saying yes. Ask the organiser first: if they agree, we issue the refund to the card or account you paid with. If the race is cancelled, the organiser's cancellation terms decide what happens to your registration fee. And if the race is sold out, you can resell your place.

How does resale work?

If the race is sold out and your QR has not been scanned yet, you can list your place from My races. It appears on the race's resale page at exactly the price you paid, never a cent more, because we set that price rather than the seller. When another runner takes it, their payment runs through our payment provider, your QR is cancelled the same second theirs is issued, and 80% of the price comes back to you automatically, on the payment method you used. You never have to find a buyer, meet a stranger, or trust anyone.

How much do I get back?

Accepted Answer

80% of what you paid, sent back automatically to the payment method you used. Our share is a flat 20% — the same percentage on a €10 place as on a €90 one, with no minimum and no fixed charge hiding underneath it. That is a deliberate choice, and it is worth explaining. A minimum fee always hurts the cheapest races hardest, and those are usually the small local ones we care about most. A sliding scale would mean we earn more the worse your luck is. Nobody should make money out of the fact that you tore a hamstring three weeks before the start, and least of all us. So it is one rule, the same for everyone, published here where you can check it: 20%, whatever happens.

Question 15

Can I cancel my resale listing?

Yes, at any time, for as long as nobody has taken it. Remove the listing from My races and your registration carries on exactly as before — same place, same QR, as if you had never listed it. Once another runner has paid, though, the transfer is final. They hold a real place in the race at that point, and we are not going to take it back off them.

Is resale safe?

Yes, and honestly this is one of the reasons the platform exists. The alternative most runners know is a message in a Facebook group: you send money to someone you have never met, you hope they really have a place, and the organiser has no idea who is actually going to start. People get cheated that way every season, and race directors end up with strangers on their start line. Here the place moves inside our own system. Your QR is cancelled the instant the new one is issued, so there are never two valid entries for the same place. The money runs through our payment provider, never runner to runner. The price is locked at what you paid, so nobody can flip a sold-out race for profit — and because the seller always gives up 20%, buying places to resell them is a losing trade by design. The organiser, meanwhile, knows exactly who is running, right up to race morning. We would rather earn a little less on a transfer than run a platform where a runner can be cheated and an organiser cannot trust their own start list.

Question 17

Do I need to print anything?

Accepted Answer

No. Show the QR on your phone, from the confirmation email or from your account, and turn the screen brightness up before you reach the desk. Print it if you would rather hold paper, or if you simply do not trust your battery, but nothing requires it.

Question 18

I forgot my phone.

Accepted Answer

You are still fine. Give your name or your email address at the desk: the staff will find you in the race cockpit in a few seconds and hand you your bib as normal. Bring some form of ID if you have it — that is what lets them be sure the place is yours. There is nothing for you to install and no app you need to have; looking you up is the desk's job, not yours.

Where and when do I pick up my bib?

That is the organiser's call, and it is on the race page along with the start times and the route — usually the morning of the race, sometimes the evening before. Whichever they choose, the routine is the same everywhere on Time2Race: show your QR, they scan it, you get your bib. Because we already know who you are before you arrive, that queue is measured in seconds.

Question 20

When do results appear?

While the race is still running. Every time you cross a timing point the passage is picked up and the live ranking updates during the race, so anyone following from home can see where you are. Your finish time appears once you cross the line, and the full ranking for your distance is complete as soon as the last runner is in.

Question 21

What is the difference between live and official results?

Accepted Answer

Live results are the ranking as it stands while the race is running and in the days just after. They are real times, not estimates, but they can still move, because a timing point occasionally needs a correction and a runner occasionally needs to be added or reassigned. Official results are that same list once it has been locked. The organiser reviews anything unusual, and when everything is settled the results are frozen: by hand as soon as they are ready, or automatically five days after the race if nothing is left open. From that moment the list no longer changes, and that is the version kept in the archive.

How do I find my results from past races?

Search your name on the results page. The archive is public and permanent — every race, every year, still there long after the race day. If you have an account, your own results are also gathered in your profile, including races you ran as a guest before the account existed: confirm your email address and we link them to you.

Question 23

My time looks wrong, or I am missing from the list.

Accepted Answer

Tell Time2Race — not the organiser. We hold the timing data and we are the ones who correct it: send us proof of your run (a Strava trace or similar) and your time will be put right. Every correction is recorded — who made it, when, and why — and the ranking is then recalculated. Results become official five days after the race: if a time looks wrong, report it to us within that window.

What do DNS and DNF mean?

DNS means Did Not Start: no start passage was recorded for you, so as far as the timing is concerned you were not on the course. DNF means Did Not Finish: you started, but no finish crossing was recorded — or, on a lapped course, not all of your laps were. Neither is a judgement.

Question 25

Can I change my language?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Time2Race is in French, Dutch and English throughout. Switch language from any page, or set your preferred language in your profile, and your emails will follow that choice too. Race names, distance names and product names are always shown exactly as the organiser wrote them, so nothing gets mangled in translation.

Can I delete my personal data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From your profile you can ask for your account to be anonymised, which is your right under the GDPR. There is a 30-day cooling-off period first — you can withdraw the request during that time if you change your mind — and after it your name, email address and phone number are replaced by an anonymous placeholder. The financial records behind past registrations have to be kept for the legal accounting period, but they are no longer connected to you. If you also organise races, you will need to close or cancel them before the request can go through.
